Otoplasty

Otoplasty is the cosmetic correction of protruding or lop ears.

It is a surgical procedure performed under local or general anesthesia with a hidden incision placed behind the earlobe. It takes around 60-90 minutes and there’s no need for hospital overnight stay.

There are many causes for ear protrusion and the surgeon should be familiar with those deformities and perform the right procedure to each specific deformation.

You will have a bandage covering the ears for 48 hours, then the ears are exposed and a bandage should be used only at night for 8-10 weeks.

Lop ears can be corrected as early as preschool (age 6 years onwards in order to prevent embarrassment among pears) till anytime in life.
